Barolo Marcenasco – Silkeblød pioner
Renato Rattis Marcenasco er en af Barolos mest ikoniske vine – og starten på en revolution. Da Ratti skabte vinen i 1965, var Barolo stadig synonym med benhård struktur og tørhed. Men Ratti ville noget andet: elegance, balance og terroir. Han kortlagde markerne i Barolo med inspiration fra middelalderens Bourgogne og udpegede Marcenasco som sit første enkeltmarkseksperiment – lige foran vineriet i La Morra.
Resultatet blev en Barolo-stil, der siden har præget hele regionen: silkeblød, kødfuld og forførende. Marcenasco har scoret op til 97 point og toppet Wine Enthusiasts TOP 100.
Årgangen her er åben og drikkeklar, men vil kun vokse med tid. Duften byder på mørke bær, mokka, trøffel og diskret røg. Smagen er fyldig med moden frugt og bløde tanniner i en lang, harmonisk afslutning.

Renato Ratti’s Marcenasco is one of Barolo’s most iconic wines – and the start of a revolution. When Ratti created it in 1965, Barolo was still known for being hard-edged and bone-dry. But Ratti envisioned something else: elegance, balance, and a sense of place. Inspired by medieval Burgundy, he mapped the Barolo vineyards and identified Marcenasco – right in front of the winery in La Morra – as his first single-vineyard project.
The result was a Barolo style that reshaped the entire region: silky, fleshy, and seductive. Marcenasco has scored up to 97 points and topped Wine Enthusiast’s TOP 100 list.
This vintage is open and ready to drink now, yet packed with energy for years to come. The nose offers dark berries, mocha, truffle, and a hint of smoke. The palate is rich and layered with ripe fruit and velvety tannins in a long, harmonious finish.
